Kiting is ideal at modest to higher tides. The water just touches the rip-rap at 5 ft. Low tides mean a long walk across very slippery mud. If foiling you'll want at least 5 ft of water.
You must launch your kite on the grass behind the jetty, then walk upwind on a road with steep ditches on either side, then cross the jetty rocks to the water. Suggest you have solid kite control for this location. Additionally 12-foot heigh pilings are located on either side of the water entrance that provide a clear downwind hazard. You must be able to kite upwind. The site is not open during duck hunting season
Park at the intersection of Colony and Chuckanut Drive and then walk across Farmer John's land to the dike. Please be respectful, this is private property that Farmer John graciously allows us to use for kiting when duck hunting is not in Season.
