Good during diurnal thermal winds from the North that tend to turn on at 12-1pm and turn off around 5pm. Look for strong pressure differences from North to South. The venturi effect makes this spot signficantly windier that other nearby locations. Bring a smaller kite or sail than you think.

For kiting it is best at low tide. At higher tide the beach for launching and rigging disspears. Note the sharp shells when rigging and launching. Bladder punctures and tears are common
The launch is relatively small, with a large rock outcropping just downwind. The water gets deep and cold fast as you progress offshore. If you can't stay upwind you will not make the return to the beach and there is not a simple upwind walk to get back.
Park at Dog Fish Point on Chuckanut Drive and walk down the steep 200-foot cliff to the beach below. This is not an easy climb, but there are ropes. Suggest having at least one hand free for ropes. It is pretty tricky to get wing foiling gear down here. Take care crossing the train tracks. Fast moving freight trains are common.
